About Chai Tea

Preparation styles vary, but traditionally milk and sweetener are added to the tea to create a spicy, creamy drink. The word “chai” is synonymous with tea in much of Asia. Traditional Indian Masala Chai (or “mixed spice tea”) starts with a base of strong black tea, often Assam. To this, a blend of cardamom, cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg, and peppercorns are added.
